Hot Chocolate Pot

(Circa 1850) Blue and white gilded hand painted Sevres porcelain hot chocolate pot including wooden stick to stir the chocolate.
If tea, coffee and chocolate appear for the first time at the Court at the time of the marriage of Louis XIV with Marie Thérèse d'Autriche, it is only at the time of Louis XV that hot chocolate arrived at the French Court promoted by the well known Marquise de Pompadour.
The hot chocolate fashion also allowed the development of well known porcelaine de Sevres manufacture supported by Madame de Pompadour.
